Education as a way to rise up

When Alexander Hamilton arrived at New York after getting a scholarship he did not know he would later become a Founding Father. People in his hometown were touched by Hamilton’s ability to describe the hurricane that destroyed the island where he lived. He was a self educated teenager, who had talent and determination, but lacked money to pay for his studies. Citizens in his hometown, despite having missed almost everything they had because of the hurricane, still collected some money to pay for an education for the brilliant boy.
Sometimes, all it takes to arise from the worst circumstances in life is someone to believe in you. Whether it is a relative, a friend, a sponsor, just some faith could be the difference between rooting in misery or becoming the best version of yourself.
We appreciated the faith our sponsors have in our scholars. Our scholars are not Hamiltons, but man, they know what it is to lose everything, sometimes more than once in their lives. Living under those circumstances, one could expect nothing good is about to happen.
We do not provide scholarships. We are a community, willing to do a collective effort to educate students. We do not lend money, we help these people to rise from the bottom. We are helping hands, and faithful hearts. After all, it takes a community to educate a child.
