BajaEd director is a guest speaker at an international congress

Selene Contreras gave a talk about our organization.

A few days ago, UABC hosted an International Congress, called "Uniendo saberes para construir un mundo justo y sostenible" (Sharing knowledge to build a fair and sustainable world). Our Director, Selene Contreras was a speaker. She gave a talk about our organization.

Selene shared with the audience her experience as a teacher in one of the poorest neighborhoods in Maneadero, the Colonia Oaxaca. She worked there for ten years. Then, she joined BajaEd. Her job allows her to help her old school and many more around the Maneadero area.

In her talk, Selene spoke about the challenges BajaEd faces in providing scholarships, workshops, and programs. She also mentioned the crucial role that partnerships and collaborations play. Finally, she answered questions from the audience, most of them related to the struggles of working to create a more fair world.
