BajaEd Weekend 2025 was a resounding success! We are deeply grateful to our guests, board members, staff, and students for making it so special. Let’s take a look at the highlights from this inspiring weekend.
The festivities began on Friday morning with an Open House at the BEI Center. Students and sponsors came together to spend quality time and strengthen their bonds. For many students, it was the first time meeting their sponsors in person—a meaningful moment filled with conversation and connection.
During the Open House, guests toured the BEI Center facilities and visited informational stands hosted by BajaEd staff. These showcased our ongoing programs, workshops, and the impactful work happening every day at the Center. It was the perfect way to kick off a weekend dedicated to education and empowerment.
That evening, we hosted the BajaEd Gala Dinner, welcoming guests from partner organizations and government programs. The Gala was a chance to share our mission with potential collaborators and celebrate the progress we've made together.
Attendees enjoyed a delicious dinner featuring traditional mole and handmade tortillas, accompanied by live music and cultural performances. The Gala also provided a relaxed and joyful space for local activists and supporters to connect and build community.
On Saturday afternoon, we gathered at the El Castillo Community Center for a vibrant Spring Fest. Scholars and sponsors took part in fun fair games and won prizes, while children delighted in an Easter egg hunt—with eggs hidden in trees and tucked away in the grass!
The Spring Fest marked the final event of the weekend, closing out BajaEd Weekend 2025 on a high note. It was a true pleasure to welcome our guests and friends as we celebrated another year of breaking the cycle of poverty through education.
